The Architecture: Sora Dora Mandorle

Mandorle tells the story of seduction — the kind that never hesitates. An explosion of almond opens with cocoa and tonka absolute, marzipan-rich and immediate, the kind of nutty sweetness that pulls people in before they've decided to be pulled. Then an icy glacé cherry surfaces in the heart, fruity and lush and slightly synthetic in the way that cherry liqueur is supposed to be, swirling against heliotrope and rum CO2. The composition turns when suede and cashmere wood roll in — a powerful, smoky leather undertone that takes the gourmand sweetness and seats it on horseback. The drydown is caramel, vanilla, sparkling woods, and white musk, magnetic and addictive for hours. Grasse-trained perfumers Bourgeois, Behaghel, and Chemardin (Flair) at their most unapologetic.
